🌿 Meet the Founder: Michael Collins
An Engineering Approach to Wellness
Michael never intended to start a wellness company. As an Industrial Engineer specializing in Ergonomics and Human Factors, his career was dedicated to injury prevention and optimizing human-system interactions. Ironically, despite his expertise, Michael spent years struggling with persistent physical discomfort and poor sleep quality.
After traditional routines failed to provide long-term results, Michael discovered the science of Earthing—the practice of connecting the body to the Earth's natural surface charge.
The Science of Grounding
Grounding is based on the principle that the Earth carries a subtle electrical charge. Modern lifestyles, including synthetic flooring and rubber-soled shoes, insulate us from this connection. By using conductive materials, we can bridge this gap indoors.
From Personal Need to Purpose-Built Design
While outdoor grounding was effective, Michael found it difficult to maintain a consistent routine due to weather and schedule constraints. He applied his engineering background to develop a solution that integrated seamlessly into daily life.
The result was the Earthbound® Grounding Mattress Pad. Michael focused on three engineering pillars:
- Material Integrity: Utilizing breathable vegan leatherette and medical-grade conductive carbon fibers.
- Durability: Designing a surface that maintains conductivity without the oxidation issues common in traditional silver-threaded sheets.
- Ergonomic Integration: A 1.85mm ultra-thin design that fits under standard fitted sheets without altering the feel of the mattress.

Today, Earthbound is operated by Simplify the Label LLC, a US-based company committed to transparency and quality. We don't just sell products; we provide tools for a more grounded lifestyle.
