Earth's healing energy. Connect while you sleep
- Rest deeply, rise restored.
Grounding reconnects your body to the Earth's natural supply of free electrons, the same charge you pick up walking barefoot on grass. Over a night of sleep that connection helps restore your body's natural electrical balance, which is why customers most often report deeper sleep first, then easing of inflammation-related aches. - As natural as bare feet on grass.
Grounding isn't a treatment or a gadget; it's a naturally occurring phenomenon your body has known for as long as people have slept on the ground. It works the same way for a grandparent as it does for a grandchild, exactly as stepping outside barefoot would — just without the cold floor.

How do I wash it?
Just like any other sheet - it goes in the washing machine. Unplug the cord first, then wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent and tumble dry low or line dry. The one rule worth remembering: skip bleach, fabric softener and dryer sheets. They leave a film on the silver fiber that gradually dulls the connection, and none of them are needed to get the sheet clean. Regular detergent is fine; avoid anything with chlorine or strong oxidizers.
Two small habits keep it conducting for years: wash it weekly like a normal sheet rather than letting body oils and lotions build up on the fibers, and plug it back in with the cord fully clicked into the snap. With this care an Earthbound sheet keeps grounding you through years of weekly washing - and if you ever want to confirm it, the free test kit shows you the connection is still live in seconds.

The clinical evidence
Recent grounding research includes randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials and peer-reviewed research examining sleep quality, stress, pain, inflammation, blood flow, and recovery. Recent literature points to measurable effects on sleep and stress while showing beneficial pain and inflammation-related outcomes.
2025: Grounded sleep significantly improved sleep quality, insomnia severity, daytime sleepiness, stress, and total sleep time.
Park et al., Advances in Integrative Medicine, 2025 — randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled earthing mat study. Sixty participants used either a grounding mat or placebo mat for 6 hours per day over 31 days, with positive outcomes measured using validated sleep scales, stress measures, and actigraphy.
2023: Grounding was shown to be a potential anti-inflammatory and antioxidant intervention.
Sinatra et al., Biomedical Journal, 2023 — peer-reviewed review discussing grounding's positive effects on inflammation, oxidative stress, cardiovascular function, and recovery.
2022: Grounding improved sleep-quality scores in a placebo-controlled pilot study.
Lin et al., Healthcare, 2022 — randomized, double-blind pilot study using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. Participants receiving grounding showed improved sleep-quality scores after a 12-week intervention.
2020: A peer-reviewed study linked grounding with reduced pain, inflammation, and stress, plus improved sleep and blood flow.
Menigoz et al., EXPLORE, 2020 — peer-reviewed review of grounding research and clinical observations. The authors summarize evidence showing that grounding may reduce inflammation, pain, and stress while improving blood flow, energy, sleep, and overall well-being.

Nights Grounded
What is grounding?
Grounding is simply putting your body in direct contact with the Earth's surface, the way you do when you walk barefoot on grass or sand. The Earth holds a limitless supply of free electrons, and when you're connected to it, those electrons flow into your body. Rubber soles, raised beds and insulated floors have cut most of us off from that connection almost entirely.
Research shows those free electrons act as natural antioxidants, helping to neutralize the free radicals that drive inflammation. In published studies, participants who grounded while they slept reported falling asleep faster, waking less often and feeling less pain within the first few nights. An Earthbound pad brings that connection indoors: a grounding cord links the conductive carbon fiber to the earth port of your outlet, so you reconnect for eight hours a night without changing a thing about how you sleep.
5% silver fiber. Woven for sheets you actually want to sleep on.
Sheet conductivity is a balancing act. More silver means stronger conductivity, but it also stiffens the fabric and reduces breathability. Less silver keeps the sheet soft but can leave dead spots where the connection drops out. Earthbound sheets sit at 5%: high enough for an even, reliable connection across the whole surface, low enough to feel like a sheet you would choose anyway.
5%
Silver fiber on organic cotton
Why not higher? Because a sheet only helps if you actually keep sleeping on it. Stiff or scratchy fabric sends people back to their old sheets within a week. 5% is the density we settled on after testing: the softness of premium cotton, a connection that holds up across the full mattress, and breathability that does not sleep hot.
Recommended use: Pair with a Grounding Pillow Case to stay grounded head to toe, all night.
Grounding for sleep, woven into your bed
Replace one fitted sheet and turn nightly hours into restorative connection.
- Silver in cottonPure silver fiber woven through 95% organic breathable cotton.
- Direct skin contactNo fabric layer between you and the conductive surface.
- Built for heatMoisture-wicking and breathable, made for hot sleepers and sweats.
- Free electrons, onlyNo current flows through the pad — just the Earth's natural charge.
- Effortless every nightNo apps, no charging, no setup after the first plug-in.
One connection. Felt everywhere.
Modern life kept you insulated from the Earth's free electrons. Grounding can support nearly every system that inflammation touches.

Sleep & circadian rhythm
Grounding may help regulate cortisol and calm the nervous system at night, so you fall asleep faster and wake more rested. Many people notice deeper, less interrupted sleep within the first week.
What the research found
93% of participants reported better sleep within the first four nights of grounding. — Oschman et al., 2015, Journal of Inflammation Research
02 / 07Often noticed: 1–4 weeks
Inflammation & everyday pain
The Earth's free electrons behave like natural antioxidants, which may help neutralize the low-grade inflammation behind stiff mornings, aching joints and slow recovery. Thermal imaging has recorded measurable reductions in inflammation after grounding.
What the research found
Medical infrared imaging showed reduced inflammation and participants reported less pain after grounding. — Oschman, Chevalier & Brown, 2015, Journal of Inflammation Research
03 / 07Often noticed: weeks to months
Circulation & blood flow
Grounding has been shown to increase the surface charge of red blood cells and lower blood viscosity, which may support healthy circulation. Warmer hands and feet is one of the first things people mention.
What the research found
Two hours of grounding improved red blood cell zeta potential and blood viscosity in every subject measured. — Chevalier, Sinatra et al., 2013, Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine
04 / 07Often noticed: first nights
Stress & the nervous system
Grounding may nudge the body out of fight-or-flight and toward rest-and-digest. Studies have measured lower sympathetic nervous system activity and a calmer heart-rate profile while grounded.
What the research found
Grounded subjects showed a measurable reduction in sympathetic nervous system activity. — Passi et al., 2017
05 / 07Often noticed: within days
Muscle recovery
Athletes ground after hard sessions for a reason: research has measured lower markers of muscle damage and less soreness in grounded subjects, with recovery that tracked days ahead of the control group.
What the research found
Grounded participants reported less soreness and showed lower markers of muscle damage after intense exercise. — Brown, Chevalier & Hill, 2010, Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine
06 / 07Often noticed: 2–4 weeks
Energy & focus
When sleep deepens and inflammation eases, daytime follows: less brain fog, steadier energy, fewer afternoon crashes. Most people notice the shift in the second to fourth week.
What the research found
Grounding during sleep normalized night-time cortisol rhythms, with participants reporting less fatigue. — Ghaly & Teplitz, 2004, Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine
07 / 07Often noticed: over months
Immune support
Chronic inflammation keeps the immune system busy in the background. By helping to neutralize excess free radicals, grounding may let your body's defenses spend less effort on inflammation and more on the job they're for.
What the research found
A review of grounding research links it to reduced inflammation, improved immune response and faster wound healing. — Oschman, Chevalier & Brown, 2015, Journal of Inflammation Research

So happy to see the new technology!
I have known about Earthing for many years, but I was so happy to see the new technology spring up that allows for conductivity without direct skin on a sheet! This is great! I am sleeping better and very pleased with the size of the mat!

Thanks for the start of my restorative sleep again
After dealing with serious menopausal symptoms, including lack of sleep, nervousness...etc. I starting looking elsewhere than medications that were making it worse. I pulled a blind folded study on my husband and decided not to tell him that it was on our bed. After a couple of weeks, I noticed, and he also mentioned, that he is sleeping deeper. Recently I started having dreams again. This is a great product, my only suggestion would be to find a way to know that the current is working on the mattress instead of testing every week (my outlet only has this plugged in) Thanks for the start of my restorative sleep again.

Finally sleeping through the night
Sleep more soundly, up less during night, nagging aches seem to disappear. Love the pillow covers also, great for neck and shoulder areas. Very comfortable.

Makes quite an impact
I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I believe it has helped me sleep sounder and actually dreamt which does not happen very often. I have felt more rested daily. I removed it for a week and felt a need to put it back on my bed because I felt tired. I am very happy with the purchase and I will buy again. Thank you very much for a quality grounded pad. Excellent product and makes quite an impact on my sleeping and less tired during the day. Highly recommend.

More durable than grounding sheets
Works as good as the sheets I had that wore out due to washing. Problem solved!

This pad is worth every penny
The grounding mat is excellent. It fully covers and stays in place on our king bed. Our normal wake up - all body pain and stiffness- has become a memory as we wake up almost pain and stiffness free. This pad is worth every penny. We added to it by placing miracle sheets on the bed and pillow cases. Great combo.

Pain relieved
I believe the mattress pad has not only helped me get a better night sleep, but has also helped to heal the pain in my right hip.

Glad I replaced my sheet
I had been using a grounding sheet that was effective when I first purchased it, then through repeated washings it lost its efficacy. Replacing it with this grounding pad has been a revelation. I'm sleeping more deeply. And dreaming more! I'm glad I replaced the old sheet with the pad from Earthbound.

I expect continued improvement
I had a grounding mat before this one, and after five years, it was disintegrating so I threw it away. After a week, my joints were hurting and I was sleeping very poorly. I didn't immediately find your website, so I bought a grounding sheet for $189. After a couple of weeks, it was obvious it wasn't as good as a grounding mat. I then found your website and placed an order. My joints feel much better, and my edema is improved. I have slept through a few nights without waking up or turning over, as I had slept for several years. I expect continued improvement.

This way you can use your regular sheets
Love it, sleeping better, pet sleeping on bed sleeps better. We shared one with someone else and she is loving it too. We have the extra one on our guest room bed. Thank you I think the whole mattress cover is the best, I wasn’t liking the look of the sheets draped over. This way you can use your regular sheets.

I'm a believer
I'm not as convinced for me but I have seen a BIG change in my wife's sleep. She has been sleeping in a way we have not seen in a long time. It's real. I'm a believer.

Slow to tell, slow to feel
Slow to tell. Slow to feel. I am in constant extreme pain. Did the grounding mat help. 100%. Did I feel it right away...no. it's been weeks. Do I feel it now...absolutely 100% yes. Got a long way to go. This absolutely mysterious grounding mat has helped. I am, every day, less and less in pain. Do I attribute to this mysterious grounding mat? How could I not. Day by day....less and less all over body pain. Coincidence...I don't think so. Am I pain free.. no. Less mobility pain..100%. Do I recommend... yes. You don't know the benefits until you try. I attribute my reduction in all over pain to this magnificent mar. Do it.

I am able to get out of bed easier
I feel like the mattress pad is really helping with my pain in the morning. I am able to get out of bed easier and seem to be sleeping more deeply and waking less times a night. It has only been about a month and am hoping that this will continue to improve as more time goes on.

I was finally able to fall asleep
I've only used it a few nights and am already seeing a difference in sleep quality. I have arthritis and the first night was painful. I had been traveling for a week and the night after I returned was especially painful after a day of shuttles, airports, and flying. Mat probably reduced the pain enough I was finally able to fall asleep. I take no prescription or otc pain meds, so it may have been a pretty good test. Last night was far better and slept quietly and well. Looking forward to even longer sleep periods with less and less pain.

I have rarely ever slept through the entire night
I am 45 years old and ever since I can remember I have rarely ever slept through the entire night. Waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to sleep was a normal thing for me. I was skeptical about the grounding mat at first. I am so glad I got it. I'm getting a good night's rest. I definitely recommend it.

This is a major improvement in my life
I have used the grounding mat before, but it was rather small and would move in the night. This is amazing. It works amazing and I could tell the next morning when I woke up. I was so well rested and my joints actually are not hurting like not at all.. It’s insane that the first day I could tell a huge difference on each day it still keeps happening so I was saying this is a major major improvement in my life and I appreciate it so much thanks guys !

Thank you for a superior product
It works. Sleeping better and less pain in the morning. I have it connected to an 8ft grounding rod and using a multimeter to test for ground through our Cotton bed sheet and it definitely is grounded. Thank you for a superior product...

I had been a bit skeptical
I just love the mattress pad. I had been a bit skeptical but thought what have you got lose, other than money, Let me tell you it was the best purchase ever. I had trouble falling asleep with my insomnia and pain from neuropathy. I tried cannabis which sometimes helped with sleep but did nothing for my neuropathy. Once we put on the mattress pad things started to change. After the first night I was able to fall asleep within minutes and the best part, neuropathy no longer bothered me at night and sleep through the night only to get up to use the bathroom and was then able to fall back asleep almost immediately.

I’m ecstatic and would recommend it to anyone
I have struggled with insomnia my whole life. I tried EVERYTHING. Sleep studies, feng shui, no electronics, sleep apps, plus the nightly concoction of pills that “kind of” worked was ridiculous….Ambien, melatonin, 2 Benadryl. Maybe I’ll be asleep by 1AM. Nothing worked. I’ve been using the grounding mat for a month. The first week I was skeptically enthusiastic but still suspicious. I thought it was probably psychosomatic and would quit working. I’m a month in, and I’m still not sure I understand, but this mat is a miracle. I sleep. I fall asleep much more quickly, I relax and I stay asleep. Like a full night of sleep! I can’t tell you the last time I slept all night….my typical routine was 3-4 nights of little to no sleep and then a night where I would crash but was restless and still woke up tired. I have slept every night. Even my husband is amazed. I also travel for work. I bought a twin size to travel with and I am sleeping really well while traveling also. I chose the mat over the sheets because I thought it would last longer and would be cleaner. I’m ecstatic and would recommend anyone with sleep issues to try it. Maybe it’s voodoo magic, I don’t care. I sleep!

Don't feel the need to take a nap after lunch anymore
I have definitely noticed that I am sleeping much more soundly and a bit longer than usual for me. In return, my energy level has risen, but at 80, I'm not sure how much of an improvement I can expect. I don't feel the need to take a nap after lunch on a regular basis anymore.

I got the mattress pad vs the sheet this time. I was not satisfied with the fitted sheet but the pad has surpassed its use vs the fitted sheet my energy and overall health issues are much better with the Matt. Thank youu
I wasn't sure that it was working till we went on vacation and didnt have it for a week. I now need to purchase a second one for our camper.
I bought it for my mom and it has helped her sleep better with her sciatic nerve pain for she is 85 years old and I very much appreciate your product
I've had neck pain due to sleeping on so many different pillows in hotel rooms when traveling for work. I started using the pillow case at home first and my neck pain started to subside. Now I take it whenever I travel and I haven't had any neck pain since and can sleep on a lot of different pillows! Highly recommend!
I got hit by a car when i was 18, 78 now, and fractured my pelvic bone. I have issued with the L4 and L5 and see a chiropractor. I have used the grounding sheets for about a year, but I switched to this mattress pad because of how you have to carefully wash them. I truly LOVE this pad. I sleep thru the night, except for 1 or 2 bathroom breaks, with no pain. I can get back into bed and fall back to sleep, no problem..Highly recommend.
The first night I put this on my bed, I felt relaxed and slept better than I have in ages. I'm a HORRIBLE sleeper (always have been) and this has helped me to fall back asleep during the night and sleep deeper, waking up refreshed (or sometimes a bit sleepy still because I'm so relaxed!). I found out I was using this upside down for nearly a month but it still worked for me. I bought my daughter one, too, to try and she has said the same thing. She's sleeping better and her shoulder doesn't hurt as much when she's sleeping on this. I just upgraded to the mattress pad for her and can't wait for it to arrive and see how much more it may help her!
So far I love it! I haven't slept this sound in over 20 years! This product has changed my life! I have been telling everyone I can about this mattress pad.
I was impressed with the obvious quality. This thing is reall well made. You feel like you are getting your moneys worth. I would have given it 5 stars, but honestly I can't quantify how well it works. I do sleep great on it.
A great option for grounding. I have previously used other grounding sheets but never of this quality. It was easy to place using the straps that wrap around the mattress. I had hesitated thinking that I would have to wrestle with the thick mattress, but that was not an issue in any way. I'm sleeping very well and notice a big difference when I travel from home for a few days and don't have the benefit of a grounding sheet. I highly recommend!
Had owned two sheets (not Earthbound) in the past, but both didn’t last long! Finally purchased the Earthbound mat and love it! Love that I can use my own sheet but more then that, my knee pain had returned while not using grounding and I am sleeping better and the knee pain has subsided! Grounding is for real, and I’ll never be without the Earthbound mat!
We live on a boat and bought it for use in the marina when we have shore power. It works great on the Queen bed even with one edge of the being smaller. We are both over 65 and it seems to help us sleep better and longer.
Well, being older - with frozen shoulder, arthritis all along the right side joints . . . I'm able to sleep a lot better and more deeply. I still don't have a lot of energy during the day, but it's improving now that the warmer weather is finally here !
I Did not expect very much from this May but I was willing to give it a try. It has exceeded my expectations and improved the quality of my sleep. I did also invest in 100% cotton sheets separately as well as some cotton PJs. I have now Recommended this product to family and friends. I feel like it was money well spent.
I Absolutely love our King sized Grounding Mattress pad !!! I could feel a difference just after a few nights. It definitely has had helped with some of my sleeping problems. Im thinking about trying a couple other products now that I found out how wonderful it works!!!
Earthbound™ Grounding Mattress Pad + Free Grounding Test Kit
My arms use to fall a sleep all the time. Now with the grounding pad they don’t!? It has helped circulation for sure.
Earthbound® Grounding Mattress Pad
Store owner replied: It's one thing to read about circulation and Zeta Potential, and another to feel it firsthand from sleeping grounded! We're happy to hear about your results.
I love it and already feel the difference.
It's been great so far ... first ordered the mattress topper ... but I had some silver infused sheets and we thought that they might be interfering with it. So I got rid of the sheets (returned them actually) and then I didn't want to take any chances of not getting results because I was not actively touching the topper, so I ordered the fitted sheet. Now I am using both and MIGHT send back the topper ... haven't decided yet. BUT my husband and I are BOTH sleeping WONDERFULLY and I have Fibromyalgia have been feeling much better (lower inflammation) !!! Just what the doctor ordered ... AND great customer service doesn't hurt !!! Thanx soooo much for the great job & products !!! BTW I had never HEARD of grounding before you and (of course) had skepticism before ordering. But your guarantee got me to try !!
This is the king bed and the grounding cover fits the entire mattress which ensures that you are grounded throughout the night, regardless of your position in the bed. My order was timely and we absolutely love love it. Our sleep is greatly improved, and I cannot imagine being without it now.
The grounding test kit was very easy to understand it had great instructions and was easy to use. The grounding sheet is working great I feel like new after a couple months.
So great to have another option for when I cant get outside. High quality and great price
I’ve been using the earthbound grounding bed mat for about 3 months. Seem to sleep better. Less aches and pains. It doesn’t bunch up under the fitted sheet. I like it very much!
Earthbound™ Grounding Mattress Pad + Free Grounding Test Kit
I am thrilled about having a grounding Rod! That is so vital to my lifestyle. I absolutely love camping out and with the grounding Rod I can camp anywhere and still be able to use my Mattresses pad because I am Grounded by Earth. I use it in my house too because my house is old and with this I do not have to worry. I cannot stress its importance enough. I highly recommend it 💯 %.
I received my queen mattress pad and installed it the next day. It was several days before I felt any difference. Now I wake up with no pain anywhere. I can get out of bed and walk where before I had to stand and make sure I wouldn’t fall before I took a step. I sleep great and feel well rested when I get up. I’m almost 74 years old and I feel so much better since I’ve been sleeping on my Earthbound mattress pad. I love it!
This company is amazing and the customer service was fabulous. The mattress pad is warm but could be just me. This picture shows a queen size cover on my king size it works fabulous as only me in this big bed. I’ve now received the king size one. I’ve also purchased extra for both daughters and g’daughter. Can’t say enough about sleep benefit, reduced inflammation and able to fall asleep quickly after getting up and returning to bed. Company exceeds the customer service if any other company. Great job
Our pad works wonderful, very happy, thanks!
Sleep is better than ever
Feels very good. My sleep is excellent….seven hours undisturbed
Don’t think just using a grounding sheet is going to help… Definitely add a grounding pillowcase into the mix! This has been a huge game changer. I have slept so much better and gotten full night sleep since using this pillowcase. I wake up with less pain, less aches and more movement in my neck than before I use this. I highly recommend it will continue using this!
I researched many grounding brands before choosing Earthbound, and it stood out to me for its focus on quality, thoughtful design, and clear product information. The mattress pad feels well made, was easy to set up, and fits comfortably under my sheet. Earthbound has made my first grounding experience simple and reassuring, and I’m very happy with my choice.
I really enjoyed this product. I thought that the initial set up was super easy and efficient. I was a little unsure how comfortable this pillowcase would be at first because of its texture but after trying it out I ended up loving it!
First night was weird. Was very buzzy all over but that wore off after a night or two. Sleep was off for a week or two meaning that I would sleep for 4 hrs then wake for 2 and back asleep for 3-4 hrs before going to work. Now after a month sleeping well all night but waking at 5 am ready to go. Have not decided if that is good or bad yet.
Earthbound Grounding sheet is the softest and most breathable sheet I've ever felt. Testing and install only took a few minutes. I like that the cors and the stretchy support bands give you room and options for placement. It's undetectable under my sheet. This is of interest to me because I've been struggling with restful sleep and some inflammatory issues lately. I'm really hoping to see improvement over the coming weeks.
This grounding pillowcase has been an effective addition to my sleep routine. It’s very comfortable, breathable and easy to use.
As a busy mom to three young kids, I don't always get as much sleep as I should. So I'm doing everything I can to ensure the sleep I do get is really good, quality rest. It's only been about a week with my grounding pad, but I feel my sleep is so much deeper and more restful than previously. My random little aches and pains have eased, and I wake up feeling more rested and refreshed! I truly can't feel it under my sheets, which is amazing - just get to experience all the benefits.
Great product! I’ve noticed a difference with my skin and face. I sleep better as well. I do think a plug should come with the product though so you don’t have to buy something else and possibly expand the pillowcases to fit king sized pillows as well. Other than those two critics you have a great product
I absolutely love this grounding pad! After using it for a week, I've noticed that I fall asleep quicker and without relying on sleep aids. Putting the pad on was a breeze and very simple! The material is breathable (I don't get warm!) and you can't even tell it's under your sheet. Simply a 5 out of 5! You must try one!
I like this product! It has a very nice smooth feel and breathable material. It can be easily wiped down with a damp cloth or cleaning wipe. The two huge elastic bands fit nicely around my king-size mattress to keep it in place.
I loved how thin the mattress pad was and it was super easy to set up and put on my bed. I can't feel it under my sheets and I love the fact that I am grounding while I sleep.
Earthbound was easy to install and I would never know it’s there. I wake up with less pain, I can’t wait to see how better I feel, the more I use it!
It was easy to put on my bed and easy to figure out. I’m very hopeful with this product. I’m not sleeping well and I’m hopeful this is going to be the ticket to a better nights sleep.
