Both are carbon-conductive surfaces for the whole mattress, and both are wiped clean rather than laundered. They differ on whether through-the-sheet grounding is a listed feature, on thickness, on what comes in the box, on price per size, and on the trial and warranty: Earthing.com lists a 45-day return window and no warranty on the product page; Earthbound lists a 90-night trial and a lifetime warranty.
Where they are the same
Earthing.com's Mattress Cover page describes "proprietary carbon-based grounding material" designed by Clint Ober after customers asked for something that would last longer than silver-threaded sheets. Earthbound's pad is a conductive carbon fiber–graphene blend in vegan leatherette, built for the same reason. Both come in true mattress sizes from Twin to California King, both snap a cord to a tab and plug into the ground port, and both are cleaned with a wipe rather than a washing machine.
Seven differences
- Through-the-sheet grounding. Earthbound lists Near Field™ Earthing that works through your fitted sheet or pajamas. Earthing.com's setup instructions say to make direct skin contact for instant grounding, and that a thin layer of natural fabric will still ground you "once your sweat creates channels."
- Thickness. Earthbound lists 1.85 mm. Earthing.com does not list a thickness on the product page.
- Placement. Earthbound: under the fitted sheet. Earthing.com: over or under the fitted sheet.
- In the box. Earthing.com: cover, product tester kit, 15 ft coil cord, US outlet checker, US safety adapter. Earthbound: pad, grounding cord with built-in 100k ohm resistor, region-specific outlet adapter, free outlet tester.
- Price by size. Earthing.com: Twin $114.99, Full and Twin XL $119.99, Queen $134.99, King and Cal King $144.99. Earthbound: from $119.99 (Single/Split) to $149.99.
- Trial. Earthing.com: 45-day money-back guarantee. Earthbound: 90 nights.
- Warranty. Earthing.com's product page does not state one. Earthbound: lifetime warranty.

Which one?
If you want to sleep directly on the surface and prefer the original Earthing brand, the Earthing.com cover is a sound carbon product with a 45-day window. If you want to keep your own sheets on top, have 90 nights to decide, and a lifetime warranty behind it, the Earthbound® Grounding Mattress Pad is the one built around that use.

Materials: 75% Breathable Vegan Leatherette, 25% Conductive Carbon Fiber - Graphene Blend. Color: Black with breathable perforations. The surface is a soft vegan leatherette blended with conductive carbon fiber, BPA- and phthalate-free and dermatologically tested, so it's comfortable even for the most sensitive skin.
Care Information: Solvent-free wipe-down, occasional cold wash when needed. Will not degrade like silver.
Do I need bare skin contact? No. Near Field Earthing works through a layer of fabric like your fitted sheet or pajamas, so you can sleep normally and still stay grounded.
How do I set it up? Lay the pad under your fitted sheet, plug the grounding cord into a grounded wall outlet, and sleep. No apps, no charging, nothing to remember. A region-specific outlet adapter is included. FREE Outlet Tester included with every order.
Will it last? Yes. It is built from conductive carbon fiber, which will not oxidize or lose conductivity over time, unlike silver-thread products. It is a buy-it-once product, backed by a lifetime warranty.
Is it safe? The grounding cord includes a built-in 100k ohm resistor for safety. No electricity flows into the pad. Only the Earth's free electrons.
90-Day Money-Back Guarantee: Ground consistently for 30 nights. If you are not satisfied, you get a full refund for up to 90 days after delivery.
Shipping: Orders ship within 24–48 hours. Shipping is free on orders over $50, which includes every mattress pad. We ship only from tryearthbound.com — never through Amazon or other marketplaces.
Frequently asked questions
Is a grounding mattress cover the same as a grounding mattress pad?
Functionally, yes. Both are conductive surfaces that lie on the mattress and connect to the outlet's ground port. The name is the brand's choice; Earthing.com and Down To Ground say cover, Earthbound says pad.
Does a grounding mattress cover work through a fitted sheet?
It depends on the product. Earthbound lists through-the-sheet grounding as a feature of its pad. Earthing.com's instructions say direct skin contact grounds you instantly and a thin natural fabric layer grounds you once sweat creates channels. Fully synthetic sheets block the connection on either.
Which lasts longer, a carbon cover or a silver sheet?
Both brands built their carbon products in response to silver sheets wearing out; Earthing.com's page says so explicitly. Carbon is not woven and does not tarnish. Earthbound backs its pad with a lifetime warranty; Earthing.com's product page does not state a warranty.
Can I put my own sheets over a grounding mattress cover?
Yes with either product. Use natural fibers (cotton, linen, bamboo); both brands say fully synthetic fabrics block electron flow.
Do I need an outlet tester?
Yes, before the first night. Both products include one: Earthing.com ships a US outlet checker and product tester kit, Earthbound ships a free outlet tester with every order. Two amber lights on a standard US tester mean the outlet is grounded.
