How to Vet a New Grounding Brand Before You Buy (2026 Buyer's Checklist)

2. Check for the "unused condition" trap
This is the single most common gotcha in grounding. A grounding sheet or pad works while you sleep on it, and results take weeks — every brand's own marketing says so. Yet many return policies in this category accept returns only for products in "new, unused condition, in original packaging." Read those two facts together: a trial you can only claim by never trying the product is a change-of-mind window, not a trial. Before buying from anyone, answer one question from their own policy text: can I return this after sleeping on it for a month? If the policy doesn't clearly say yes, assume no.

Registration: some warranties are void unless registered within a window (90 days is common). If yours requires it, do it the day the box arrives. Coverage: "lifetime" should mean conductivity and function, in writing — not a word in a banner.

4. Weigh reviews by where they live

What to look for instead: reviews published on the brand's own site through a verifiable review platform, with the critical reviews visible, and a ratings distribution you can inspect — or independent platforms the brand doesn't control. A star rating that appears only inside promotional articles isn't customer consensus; it's copy.

5. Demand a way to verify the product physically
A grounding product is a functional electrical device. Function is measurable in ten seconds: an outlet tester confirms your socket's ground line is live, and a continuity tester confirms the product conducts. A brand that includes or sells testers is inviting you to check its work; a brand that never mentions verification is asking for faith.
